Regular Season Round 24: Derby - Split 102-89

Everything could happen in Podgorica at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked MontenegrinDerby and 11th ranked Croatian Split had identical 8-15 record. This time Derby used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Split 102-89 on Monday night. Derby shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Erick Neal (178-1995, college: UT Arlington) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Luka Bogavac (195-2003) who added 20 points during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was forward David Skara (203-1995, college: Clemson) with 13 points and 7 rebounds and American Shannon Shorter (193-1989, college: N.Texas) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Derby (9-15) moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Split dropped to the twelfth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Borac.
